Game Recap: COL 7, SF 3
The Giants struggles continued tonight, losing 7-3 to the Rockies on the first night of the Buster Posey era. Posey celebrated with a beautiful opposite field home run that brought to mind the way Matt Holliday used to hit at Coors Field. That was really the only thing to get excited about in this game. Madison Bumgarner had a pretty similar game to his first start against the Red Sox, going into the 7th inning and giving up 3 earned runs. He once again only had 1 walk, even when he was being given the rookie treatment by home plate umpire Ted Barrett. But he gave up 9 hits, 4 more than in his season debut. It's hard to say much about him now. Though the results haven't been great, it looks like the kid can pitch. The rest of the team pretty much did nothing. The Giants continue to slouch towards .500.

I was only following from my phone, but it seemed like the offense showed some signs of more life. Would you agree?
ReplyDeleteNot really. They hit .200 for the game (7 for 35).
ReplyDeleteWell it seemed a little better than the Dodgers series.
