Besides Aubrey Huff's two bombs, there's not a lot good that happened in this game. Buster Posey looks like he might be heating up again. But everyone else continues to slump, and the Giants are one loss away from .500 as we near the midpoint of the season. What are the chances the Giants lose tomorrow? Well, they're facing Ubaldo Jimenez (14-1).
Tim Lincecum is not pitching well. Today he had 13 baserunners in 6 innings, raising his season WHIP to 1.30. This is concerning. And the bullpen blew any chance the Giants had of staying in the game when they gave up 2 runs in the 8th inning.
Lead off hitters are killing us. Furcal, and now Dexter Fowler. When guys with speed are getting on base constantly, it doesn't help that our pitchers SUCK at holding them on.
Will this team continue to slouch toward the Bethlehem of .500? Can the center hold? Or will things fall apart?
I see a shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
It is moving its slow thighs,
It is Prince Fielder!
oooo referencing the Second Coming at the end there. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteThere is NO WAY you knew it was the Second Coming without doing a little internet research. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI love Yeats, Reza. Give me some credit.
ReplyDeleteMere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
ReplyDeleteThe blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned
It's beautiful.
