Game Recap: PHI 8, SF 2

So, you know the story. The first batter of the game for the Giants, Andres Torres, hit a home run. Buster Posey got a hit, so did Jose Guillen. The offense looked like it might be able to score some runs tonight. Nope. Wrong. We were all duped again. Sure, Pat Burrell added a homer in the 6th inning, but it wasn't nearly enough. It's happened so many times. The Giants love crushing our hopes and dreams. That's a fact.

The pitching was shaky again. Matt Cain really wasn't terrible, allowing only 2 ER with 4 K's and 1 BB. But the only reason he was charged with just 2 ER was because after a Mike Fontenot error, 2 runners got on, and Jimmy Rollins belted a 3-run homer. Cain really had no answer for Rollins all night. The bullpen was also bad, especially Guillermo Mota who gave up a HUGE homer to ultra-prospect Domonic Brown. But at that point I wasn't paying too much attention and I'm sure neither were you.

Lastly, I want to apologize for the lack of analytical posts recently. I was on vacation for a week, and I'm just now getting back into the swing of things. Don't worry though, we'll pick things up starting tonight will a special evening post.
